5 ways to stay fit as you age

As we have all noticed, when you see an older person, you see thinner arms and legs. Also, you observe that they have weak muscles and less immunity. These are all causes of old age. We cannot stop this process of weakening. But can we minimize these effects?. This is the question that exists in the minds of many people. Let me tell you there are ways to stay fit as you age. Here are some ways

1- Maintain a healthy weight

When we are young,we don't usually get attacked by diseases. Although the majority of people in our society don't have weight as mentioned by BMI range. Having weight not according to BMI causes many problems and diseases. It leads to diabetes,blood pressure,and heart problems. Between 2016 and 2017 in a survey in US from high school from grade 9 to 12, 15% of students were obese means overweight. As these children have strong immune systems, diseases are usually overcome. But when these people go into their 40s and 50s, diseases attack them, So if you want to stay fit at a later age you should keep weight in check according to BMI.

2- Exercise regularly

The majority of people in our society don’t do exercise. Many people in our society do office work and sit for 8 to 10 hours daily. They often complain about back pain. If they do some simple exercises and do some stretching, they can make their muscles strong and get rid of pains. These exercises will help them in later life to sustain the strength of muscles as they grow old.

3- Learn to relax

Certainly life is very fast nowadays. Every person is working day and night to succeed. They work hard so that their families can have better lives. But we forget our peace of mind in this race of life. We must know the importance of a relaxed mind.

If we don't relax, we may fall victim to stress and depression. Stress impacts health very badly. So we should meditate or do some yoga or sit with some friends to relax. It will help us to stay fit as you age.

4- Ditch the alcohol and cigarettes

Many people fall victim to smoking and drinking alcohol. These things completely destroy our liver and lungs. In a survey in 2016 globally,among deaths that occur due to liver cirrhosis, 48% of them were alcohol consumers. So if you want to stay healthy and fit,you should avoid smoking and alcohol.

5- Be sensible about illness

We should be curious about our health. We should have a routine check-up of ourselves. We must go to the doctor routinely and seek advice about daily life.We should take the motive of keeping us healthy and fit. Because if we don't care about ourselves,nobody will.

Conclusion

In the end, it’s up to us whether we want to keep ourselves fit as we age. Aging is inevitable,but we can minimize its drastic effect to a certain limit.
